Is the groove only used as mark? Should the groove be made very precise?

The groove is provided in the sample that is currently being used, we are developing new part,
We assume it is for mechanical strength for holding, after Injection molding with plastic,
If you expect any magnetic property changes, please let us know,

The groove is very small, so it will not affect the magnetic property.
But our engineers inform that if the groove is flat, as per your drawing, we are unable to produce.
If the groove is round, then we can produce the neodymium magnet you need.
May I know if you could adjust the design of the groove?
