Introduction
With wider and wider applications of aluminum alloy, some manufacturing industries, especially automobile and household appliance industries, which require high quality, propose higher demand of quality and production techniques of aluminum alloy. As is known to all, the most important part to guarantee product quality is how to stir aluminum melt efficiently in finery. Therefore, mechanical stirring, manual stirring and electro-magnetic stirring emerge as required. Furnace magnetic stirring technology was come up in 1930s, but for a long period, development of this product was only a concept without any action. Due to many defects of electro-magnetic stirring, such as great investment, huge sizes and large power consumption, promotion and application of magnetic stirring technology in metal smelting industry. Mechanical stirring and fluid pressure stirring gradually step down from the stage of history, because of directly contact with high-temperature aluminum melt, short service life and halfway stirring. With more and more mature actual application technology, magnetic stirrers have become essential equipments of aluminum enterprises as well as brought considerable economic benefits. With constant upgrade of magnetic technology, more cost-effective are gradually promoted, therefore magnetic stirrer will become the equipments that attract most attention.
Working Theory
Permanent magnetic stirrers for aluminum melt use alternating magnetic field produced by motion of AMAG permanent magnets and stir metal liquid. A magnetic stirrer is like a magnetic filed with large air gap. The inductor equals to a stator in a motor while aluminum liquid equals to a rotator. Interaction between magnetic field and metal liquid in the molten bath produces magnetic force, which drive metal liquid to move directionally and stir the metal liquid. There, noncontact stirring of permanent magnet stirrer will not pollute aluminum industy.
Features
During stirring, melt is in dynamic state, which is beneficial to escape of nonmetallic inclusion and improve purity of the melt.
