Concern shape, about permanent magnetic field / mirror effect, I measured & compare, result is: square is better than round. The radius of the angle must be 1 to 1.5 mm. Size: 10 mm.

---Concerning steel plate, if make it with 0.8mm, it will be ok. As it’s a starting project, I can be very tolerant and accept 0.8 or 0.9, or 1.0 mm, but 100% must be with the same thickness. Samples D8x6mm (2 poles magnetized, N38 & N48)
